In view of the recent feedback from students on the written assessment method of the required and elective P.E. courses, the Physical Education Unit(PEU) has taken note of students’ request to take the practical examinations, and thus decided to arrange the make-up practical examinations (80%) on 4, 5, 11 and 12 January 2020. Students can choose either one of the following options to complete their assessment of P.E. courses:
1) Submit a reflection article; or
2) Take the make-up practical examination.
If students would like to take the make-up practical examination, they must register via the following website, and select the examination date and time by 23:59:59 on 10 December 2019. All the required and elective P.E. courses’ examinations will be held on two seperate days and students can register either one of them. If students are unable to attend any one of the sessions, they must submit a reflection article. For student who has submitted a reflection article but still registered the make-up examination, his/her reflection article will not be assessed.
Website: The link will be sent via e-mail by course lecturer
The first half-hour of the examination period for each course has been reserved for students to take attendance and warm-up. Owing to the tight schedule of the make-up examination, the warm-up time is only half an hour. Students are adviced to do their practices in advance. They may make use of all the University gymnasia for practice as it is now open to students.
If a partner is requested for your practical examination, the student must invite the partner on his/her own. If the examination involves rally, catch and throw items, students can also invite classmates who have submitted the reflection article to be their partners. The partners’ practical examination results will not be counted.
In case of rainy day(including amber, red and black rainstorm signal, strong wind signal no.3 or above), the outdoor classes fail to carry out the make-up examination as scheduled, students should pay attention to the latest announcement on the website of the PEU in that morning.

Assessment Rubrics of the Required and Elective PE Assignment
As the recent incidents have caused great destruction to facilities on campus, the Physical Education Unit(PEU) fails to carry out the practical examinations for the required and elective P.E. courses. Therefore, PEU decided to replace all the practical examinations by submitting an article about the course via VeriGuide in 2019-20 term 1. The required and elective P.E. courses assessment(100%) in this term will include a reflection article (80%) and attendance and participation(20%). The topic of the article is as follows:
Write a reflection article (in no more than 1,500 words in Chinese or 1,000 words in English, punctuation is counted) about the experience of the PE course you took in this semester. The article should include the following two parts:
The assessment rubrics of the assignment can be check through the following link:
