Introduction
Dr. Yeung Ming-Biu and Ms. Au Po-Kee established this scholarship to praise the superior athlete in the CUHK. There are five to ten recipients in each year. HKD10,000 will be awarded to each recipient.
Eligibility
- All full-time CUHK student with excellent performance in sport.
- Each student can only receive the scholarship ONCE in CUHK.
- The CGPA must be higher than 2.0.
Application Procedures
- Applicants shall submit the completed application form online at Dr. Yeung Ming- Biu and Ms. Au Po-Kee Outstanding Athlete Scholarship 2024/2025 Application Form. The form will then be passed to the referee for follow-up.
- Applicants must invite one university team coach / coordinator of the college / lecturer of PEU as a referee.
- The application deadline is 30 April 2025.

The Elite Athlete Seminar organized by Physical Education Unit is to let students who have excellent sports performances understand that they can be admitted to CUHK through ‘Sports Scholarship Scheme’.

Introduction:
Since September 2001, the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) has launched the “Sports Scholarship Scheme” to enable members of the Hong Kong National Squad, Junior Squad or the elite athletes in Hong Kong Secondary Sports Federation to study and be trained in the excellent environment of CUHK.
Objectives:
- To increase the chances for elite athletes to enter CUHK;
- To foster all-round education by helping athletes to balance their studies and sports;
- To strengthen the connections between the University and the colleges by jointly promoting the sports development in CUHK;and
- To improve the sports atmosphere on campus and to bolster the morale and team spirit of CUHK Sports Teams.
Details:
Scholarships are categorized as the followings:
- Sports Outstanding Scholarship is HKD$80,000
- Sports Excellence Scholarship is HKD$30,000
- Sports Performance Scholarship is HKD$15,000
Except for the first year, the schlorship recipients will be accessed every year and the scholarship could be renewed only if they meet both standards of the academic and sports performance.
The Maximum years of receiving scholarship is subject to respective study programmes.
Conditions of Eligibility:
Applications must be a Hong Kong permanent resident and fulfil University General Qualifications for Admission.
- Current Hong Kong National Squad member; or
- Current Hong Kong Junior Squad member; or
- Former Hong Kong National Squad or Junior Squad member with outstanding performance; or
- Elite athletes in Hong Kong Secondary Sports Federation or studied overseas.
Application Procedures:
In addition to the admission procedures set by CUHK Admission Office, all applicants must fill in the online application form. Please upload copies of following supporting documents in the past THREE years.
- Academic Qualifications/Results at Secondary School/Undergraduate Level or Professional Qualification(s) obtained
- Proof of sports performance or certificate(s) of participation in sports competitions and events
- Recommendation letter from the respective sports association
